Hi, I'm Ying-Ying—a passionate art conservator, archaeologist, and museum studies specialist, with a deep love for painting. My artistic journey began when I picked up a paintbrush as a child, and it has been a constant companion ever since. I pursued formal training at an art academy, which has greatly enriched my creative expression.

Academically, I hold a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Southampton. I also completed my BA in Chinese Art Conservation and my MA in Maritime Archaeology. My interdisciplinary background has equipped me with unique insights and skills in cultural heritage, maritime ethnography, and museum studies. I have worked as an editor for a museum journal, contributing my expertise to the academic community.

My master's research focused on the ethno-archaeological study of boats, sparking a broader exploration into the significance of maritime collections, audience engagement, and museum representation. My doctoral research delved into the representation of a non-conventional assembly of traditional boats from various countries, examining their cultural narratives and how they are presented in museums.

Originally from the vibrant city of Ningbo, China, I now call the beautiful Newport in South Wales my home. In my personal time, I enjoy practicing martial arts, playing tennis, doing yoga, diving, cooking, and immersing myself in music and movies.
